A few weeks ago my family traveled to Toronto to see the Toronto Santa Claus Parade. It was big and lavish and cost millions of dollars to create. Each float had a huge corporate sponsor and took hundreds of hours of manpower to complete. They were sleek and professional. We were in awe. The larger than life floats featured moving parts and so many costumed strangers walked in front of or behind these floats. We shuffled our feet to stay the cold, and we ohhhhed and we awwwwwed.
We love to travel to the city to see this big budget spectacle. It represents that big city itself. The floats were large and loud and showy. When the parade was over we pushed through the crowds to arrive at our next destination. We were completely anonymous, just strangers drifting through the sea of strangers.
